Cell Phones For Emergencies?

By now most of us have seen shocking video of the murder of 16-year old Fenger High School Honor roll student Derrion Albert. Despite the clarity of the video it is hard to tell who is fighting who, but its apparent that the teenagers wielding the 2x4's are intent on inflecting serious harm.

The irony of this video is that it was recorded on a Cell Phone! Duh! Why not use it for what it was made for. Emergencies! Call the Police! You can hear honking horns, screams, camera directions and even laughter from bystanders.

Of course camera phones have been used to solve murders and bring criminals to justice, but yet this feature was not suppose to take the place of COMMON SENSE.

*Are we that desensitized to violence that we think first to press the record button before calling 911?*
